In June 2010, driven business owners Lisa Rodriguez Brown, Karen Steele Kowalski, Toni Rodriguez Hoffman, and Len Konopka came together with a unified mission to build a unique hair salon & spa. With their common values and each set of unique talents, Krave Salon, Inc was created.Krave Salon takes pride in the fact that customer service is their #1 priority. The staff is friendly and every customer is greeted with a smile. Customers are often lovingly greeted by Lucy, the salon mascot. Their mission is 100% client satisfaction.
Beautifully furnished and modernly equipped inside a 3500 sq. foot full service salon, some of their specialties include hair extensions, extensive color lines, facial and body waxing, chemical peels, facials, massage, nail services, airbrush makeup, traditional makeup, tattoo cover up and semi permanent makeup. For bridal parties and private events, Krave Salon offers a 400 sq. ft. semi-private lounging area including a service of beverages and continental breakfast.
Krave Salon has certified Nail Techs, Estheticians, Make Up Artists, as well as 18 talented Hair Stylists, each one with their own unique set of expertise and artistic qualities. They have Hair Stylists specially trained as Master Colorist, Kemon Certified Educators, Hair Dreams Extension, Hair Dreams Quikkies Tape in Extension (a Salon Exclusive), and Great Lengths Hair Extensions. Their Makeup Artists are experienced and certified in Kett Airbrush Makeup in addition to Traditional Makeup through the Michigan Makeup Academy. “We feel the additional training our staff receives helps us stay up to date with the latest trends,” says Toni Rodriguez Hoffman, “We can serve our clients better when we know the latest styles.”
Krave Salon carries product lines such as Lisap, Redken, Bedhead, Brazilian Blow Out, Pravana Chroma Silk Vivids, and Arbonne. Krave Salon is the only salon in the Downriver Area to carry the complete Moroccan Oil line.
The owners and their staff give back to the community. They search to be involved in local philanthropies such as: Wines for Humanity, MS, Colon Cancer, Wyandotte Wilson School Girls Group, and other high schools in the Downriver community. They are also one of the top donors and advocates of Children with Hair Loss.
When asked why the owners picked Southgate as their home for their business Hoffman said “We are very happy we chose Southgate for our location, it’s located in the heart of downriver. Over the past 5 years we have witnessed tremendous growth for Downtown Southgate. We feel fortunate to be part of that continued growth.”
